Cormac Buchanan is a kiwi racer writing a new chapter in New Zealand’s motorsport history.
His junior days were spent without brakes as a speedway racer before a trip to MotoGP at Phillip Island changed his sporting direction. Cormac made the switch to tarmac at 12-years-old and, such was his natural talent, by the age of just 17 he already had six New Zealand Superbike Championship titles to his credit, including dual 600 SuperSport and 300 SuperSport crowns. Since his debut in 2020, he’s won every NZSBK Championship he’s entered.
With just seven months racing experience under his belt, Cormac ventured to Europe to test his mettle against the world’s best at the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup selection event. The first kiwi selected for the prestigious programme, Cormac was awarded a rare three years as a ‘rookie’.
He joined the AGR Racing team in 2022, initially contesting the European Talent Cup. Recognising his potential, team manager Anscari Nadal promoted him to the FIM JuniorGP World Championship halfway through the season and he excelled on the Moto3 machine, qualifying on the front row in just his third outing.
Cormac continued to hone his skills under the guidance of AGR, finishing 14th in the 2023 JuniorGP championship.
2024 proved to be his most successful year internationally, securing three podiums, pole position and three top-five finishes in the JuniorGP ranks to finish 5th overall in the standings.
His remarkable trajectory in the racing world earned him a Moto3 World Championship contract with Denssi BOE Motorsport for 2025 – becoming the first New Zealander contracted since Simon Crafar over 25 years ago.
Cormac brings a high speed billboard and unique and innovative marketing opportunities to a huge global audience. A fantastic ambassador, he has a range of sponsorship and investment opportunities available.

Our take: Years ago we sponsored a young Kiwi lass in the World SBK - Avalon Biddle. She did (and still does) routinely kick the butts of the boys, and proved to us that motorcycle racing talent was in fine form in New Zealand.
However there has been a serious lack of Kiwi riders in MotoGP -- until now!
Our fans from New Zealand punch way above their weight in dedication and numbers as a percent of population. Every race is a 'fly away' and yet they come! We are so delighted to get behind the first New Zealander to hit the MotoGP paddock since Simon Crafar over 30 years ago.
And just to prove he is no slouch, in his very first race (Thailand) he crashed in the first lap, yet picked up his bike and raced it home to take a point! Astonishing!
We offer "Cormac Experience" packages at all events - come join the action and support this young star in the making!
