Event review - Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix 2024

Still the staff favourite fly-away event, we have been coming here since 2006!

Our tour guests are spoiled for choice: stay in a top 5* hotel near the track, home to many top teams and riders; or join our Paradise package at a stunning seaside resort with amazing facilities.

Thursday we start with our usual happy hours at each hotel. At the Sama Sama we caught several top riders passing by - Marc & Ale Marquez, Brad Binder, many top team bosses. The Avani guests enjoyed spectacular setting in a totally chilled-out environment.

Friday we were up to the track of course, our team guests and VIP enjoyed visits to the service road, garages, and the rooftop viewing area.

Friday evening we went back to the track for our "Insider's Night". A box dinner and beer was followed by a sow look of the track on the bus, stopping at the must-visit Marco Simoncelli memorial. We also stopped at the iconic Tower Corner, and of course the start grid. We got a private tour of the inner workings - the press room, the media centre and the control room (Normally we would visit the podium but maintenance work was underway)

Saturday was a spectacular sprint race, with another victory from Jorge Martin - inching him closer to the world championship!

Saturday evening we held our best dinner of the year - a gourmet meal prepared by the Sama Sama kitchen team. The awesome food and drink was capped by a spell binding after dinner talk from immensely experienced veteran MotoGP journalist Manuel Pecino. A perfect night!

Sunday we learned that the Valencia race was cancelled and moved to Barcelona, so much of the proceedings were in honour of Valencia.

Pecco Bagnaia's victory kept the tournament on edge - setting up a thrilling finish to be had at Catalunya!

We closed the weekend with our traditional drinks at the Sama Sama bar, hobnobbing with MotoGP people and the occasional rider!

We look forward to our return to spectacular Sepang!
