Could this be the friendliest MotoGP of the year!?

What a start to the 2025 season! We make the voyage to lovely Thailand to see the new teams, riders and bikes in anger for the first time in the year.

A super hot weekend with temperatures routinely exceeding 35c with added humidity, made racing a real challenge for the riders and spectators; but thankfully the brilliant Buriram circuit provided many facilities to help dodge the heat.

After the long travel for our staff -- coming from Scotland, San Diego and Malaysia! -- the action started Thursday evening at our welcome drinks at our two hotels.Free coconut drinks for our Classic package customers in the 3* and 4* hotels! Our Thai guide Ploy was on hand all weekend to help with any issues.

Our deluxe customers at the sublime Modena 5* hotel managed to destroy two beer towers in the beautiful poolside setting!

Friday we were first exposed to the Buriram furnace, I mean circuit! Always a wonderful welcome form the Thais and the quirky and fun 'haywagon' shuttle trucks taking us to all points around the track.

On a personal note,we got the opportunity to meet our newly sponsored riders: Eddie O'Shea from UK in the British MLav Racing team; and Cormac Buchanan from New Zealand riding for Moto3 BOE sports. It was great to see them in their new livery and teams and we (and perforce all our guests!) will be following them avidly over the year!

Friday night we invited Cormac to address our opening dinner - telling us about his first ever day in MotoGP. Super poised, he charmed our guests and won some new fans. We also invited the star photographer Cormac Ryan Meenan, official photographer for Honda, and he was nice enough to bring colleague Rob Gray, photographer of KTM and personal photographer of Fabio Quartararo. They showed us amazing images from years past as well as that day. Insights into many aspects of MotoGP and the art of photography were shared in a fascinating display!

Coupled with bottomless beer, wine and soft drinks and yummy Thai food, it was a great evening!

Saturday it was up to the track and back (Deluxe customers simply walk the <1km!) with the day ending with the first race of the season! The Marquez brothers took 1-2 (and as sponsors of MotoGP Team Gresini, putting Alex on the podium was joyous!)

It was a free evening Saturday - many took the opportunity to visit the local vibrant night markets.

Sunday delivered 3 amazing races! Moto3 got off to a terrible start (for us) as our two sponsored riders crashed into each other. Cormac slid out and his bike took out Eddie! :-( However Cormac managed to pick up his bike and catch up to the pack, finishing the race in 15th - an astonishing first point in his first race! Eddie was ok, and after the race Cormac apologised for the booboo.

We closed the amazing weekend with a brilliant dinner at a local Thai restaurant - we have been coming here for the past 5 years and we get the royal treatment!

Sadly, we have learned that the Thai government has declined to extend the contract for Buriram after 2026, so as it stands, 2026 will be the final yeaer at this amazing venue. We strongly urge you to join us!
